Q: Is Reiki a religion?

A: No, it is a treatment used by practitioners from all walks of life and all religions. 


Q: How does a practitioner perform Reiki treatments?

A:  A practitioner holds their hands over the body or energy center in different areas allowing healing energy to pass through to the client.


Q: Do I have to remove clothing?

A:  No, there is no need to remove any clothing during a treatment.  However, wear comfortable clothing so as not to feel restricted while having a treatment.


Q: Will the practitioner touch me?  If so, where?

A: Reiki treatments can be beneficial with or without touch.  If you prefer not to be touched, that is perfectly fine.  It is your comfort that is important and Reiki will work even if you decide touch is not your preference.


A:The practitioner will place their hands on or off the body, such as the forehead, ears, shoulders, heart area, (not the breasts or genitals) solar plexus, stomach/abdominal areas, root, arms, legs, feet.  The practitioner will ask your permission before treatment begins.  At any time during treatment if you feel uncomfortable the practitioner will change the placement of hands as needed. 


Q: Does it hurt?  How does it feel?

A:  No, Reiki is not painful. 


A:During the treatment you may feel tingling, warmth, cold or cool sensations, release of emotions, release of pain.  Sometimes you might not feel anything other than a sense of peace, but Reiki will keep working as you progress through treatments.


Q: How many treatments will it take?

A:  Just like any other treatment or therapy it all depends on the individual and /or the conditions you are treating.  Some practitioners recommend 3 or more treatments to become comfortable with the process and know what to expect. 


Q: Do I need a doctor's order to have a Reiki treatment?

A:  Normally, you do not need one, but if you feel you should consult your doctor then please do so prior to making your first appointment.


Q: Are your services covered by any insurance plans or networks?

A:  No.  Many medical centers and hospitals are offering Reiki, Yoga, Tai Chi, Qigong etc., and may be covered by insurance in the future.  However, most insurance companies do not pay for this type of treatment at this time.


Q: What is Craniosacral therapy?

A:  Craniosacral therapy (CST) is a gentle method of evaluating and enhancing the functioning of every system in the body as well as the harmonious coordination of the body, mind and soul.  Generally with the touch of no greater than 5 grams, practitioners release restrictions in the craniosacral system to improve the functioning of the Central Nervous System.


Q: What is Healing Touch?

A:  Healing touch is a biofield therapy that uses touch to influence the human energy field that surrounds the body and energy centers that control the flow from the energy field to the physical body for emotional, physical, mental and spiritual healing.
